The Royal Society has recently released a Policy Briefing on Green Ammonia (19.02.2020). This policy briefing considers the opportunities and challenges associated with the manufacture and future use of zero-carbon or green ammonia. The 40 pages document includes details of the production of ammonia (green, blue or brown), storage, distribution, utilisation and global attempts to use the molecule. Academics from Cardiff University (Prof. Phil Bowen and Dr. Agustin Valera-Medina) actively contributed to this report, with particular emphasis on the utilisation section. The report is available in https://royalsociety.org/topics-policy/projects/low-carbon-energy-programme/green-ammonia/
The Policy Briefing will ensure that the concept of "ammonia as energy vector" is better understood, facilitating the implementation of legislation and technological development in the field.
