Updated: Mar 12, 2020
Marina Kovaleva secured one of the nine UK - Japan scholarship places during the final year of her BEng Mechanical Engineering course at Cardiff University. The scholarship, provided by the Japanese Government (MEXT) has enabled her to fulfil her ambition of pursuing ammonia as a renewable fuel in Japan.
Marina is currently a research student at Tohoku University, studying ammonia combustion fundamentals at the research laboratory led by ‘Ammonia Direct Combustion under the SIP Energy Carriers Project‘ Team Leader: Professor Hideaki Kobayashi. In the future, she hopes to use her unique experiences to contribute to the development of new renewable energy technologies.
